Get rid of Ants

By Kim, 8 February, 2010, No Comment

There are many different ants in the world and the best know ones are fire ants and carpenter ants. Although I can get rather interested in what their capabilities are, I surely don’t want them to invest my house. Sadly these buggers think differently and they do like to build nests beneath our wooden floors or in hidden tree trunks. You should always try to get rid of the ants nest as quick as possible because ants can be mean buggers and some of them like fire ants will even bite you. You don’t want your children to play in a house that is invested with fire ants and that is why you have to get rid of them.

Carpenter Ants Extermination is not that difficult although they can take a lot. The best way is by drowning them with a mixture of boiling water and Ant Killer. You should always try to hit the nest at once and you can do this by targeting the center of the nest. However, when you don’t know exactly where the nest is than you might have a problem.

Although Ants are nothing like termites, they do like to house vest in the same locations as termites do. Look for a nest in rotten wood structures like beneath your floor, cellar, roof, and everything else that is made out of wood. If you can’t find the nest in the first inspection than try to follow them when you see one. Follow them to the nest and see if more come out at the same spot. The moment you see more of them or when you see the appearance of winged ants than you know you are on the right spot.

As I told you, you need to get to them in the center of their nest. Sometimes this means drilling holes in to your walls or floor in order to get rid of them. Although nobody likes to drill holes in their walls, it might be the only way to get rid of them. If you don’t act swiftly than the problem will only grow worse.

Is Vending a Scam?

By Kim, 3 February, 2010, No Comment

A lot of people are curious about vending and want to know if it is a scam or not. Well, yes and no. There are many scams involved in the vending business, but vending is also a viable home business. You need to be smart about your choices and dedicated in your pursuit. However, it’s important to note that most people who start out in vending will fail. This doesn’t make vending a bad business, but rather serves to point out that most people don’t have realistic goals and are ill suited to running their own business. Look at the failure rate of restaurants and other small businesses and straight across the board you’ll find that the failure rate is very high. This isn’t meant to discourage you from starting your own business but you need to be aware of the road blocks you face.

A lot of people think that vending is a scam because of the proliferation of businesses offering “vending opportunities” promoting  “easy money”. This is source of a lot of people’s failure in the vending machine business and if you’ve come across their stories on the net, you too may be lead to believe that vending is a scam. But vending isn’t the problem; it’s these biz op companies that are the scam. Once people are sucked into paying exorbitant prices on these company’s package deals, it makes it hard to make a profit and people end up becoming so disillusioned with vending that they start to think the whole thing is a scam.

If you do want to try your hand at a small vending route, start with some cheap used vending machines, build your route slowly and keep your debt to a minimum. This is really the single best way to start out. Whatever you do, never buy in to one of these biz op scams or you’ll end vending road kill.

Establishing Fault in Auto Accident Cases

By Kim, 13 January, 2010, No Comment

One of the main reasons many auto accident cases go to trial is that the two parties can’t agree on who is at fault for the accident or how much fault each party is responsible for.  Every state has different laws in determining who is at fault for a car accident.  Some have no doubt liabilities laws and others don’t and will always apply proportional blame.  Make sure that before you get into legal proceedings over auto crash settlements that you know what the laws in your state are as they pertain to your crash.

One of the easiest ways of determining liability in a crash is in a no doubt liability case.  These cases are cases where there is no doubt who is at fault for the accident.  The at-fault party is assigned one hundred percent liability for the accident no matter what other circumstances conspired to create the accident.  Some examples of no doubt liability cases are crashes caused by a left hand turn, rear end collision, or drunk driver.
If your auto accident isn’t a no doubt liability case, fault for the accident will usually be determined by the police officer that reports to the accident scene.  This is where there can be contentions for who is at blame.  Usually the driver that is participating in risky behavior will be the one to blame for the accident.  If someone is found to have run a stop sign, been speeding, driving recklessly, or breaking other rules, they will be assigned all or the majority of the blame.  If the people in both cars are found to be participating in risky behavior, in many cases a proportion of liability will be assigned for the accident.

Should I Start My Own Business

By Denver, 14 November, 2009, No Comment

Most people ask this question at one time or another in their lives. Overwhelmingly the answer to this question is usually yes. Yet so few people actually do it. Most people want to be an entrepreneur of some sort or another, but most people just don’t know how to go about it.

A great way to know if you should start a business is to start one and see if you like it. We have all heard the stats where most small businesses fail within the first 5 years. And the ones who usually make it are the ones who have changed and adapted their plans throughout that time period.

You also have no guarantee that you will actually like what you have chosen to do. It may sound great and look good on paper, but when it comes time to actually carrying out your plans you may dread it more than your old job.

That is why I suggest testing the waters. Think of an idea or a small part time activity you can do on the side. This will give you a chance to test the waters and to actually see if you enjoy this particular business venture. You will also get first hand experience with the ins and outs of running a business. Such as accounting, taxes, dealing with customers, and selling.

Most successful business owners have people skills, time management skills, and self confidence. Notice I am not calling these natural talents I am calling them skills. Skills are things you learn with practice. So when you start running your own business you will learn these life skills that will carry you well, no matter what your endeavors are.

By starting small you will develop the necessary skills you will need to run a large successful business in the future. You will also get an opportunity to test the waters to see what works in todays markets and with your personality and skill set.

If you are successful at running your small side business you will also create extra income. You can use this income to put back into your business so it can grow. You can use it to pay off your debts or to create a financial cushion to pad your finances.

Instead of thinking someday when I stumble upon the right idea I will start my own business. Why not start one now. Eventually with practice and effort you will make the business idea your own and actually have the skills to run a successful venture.
