Grilling food on the outdoors is a favorite of many Americans. There is nothing better than cooking and enjoying the great outdoors, even if you are only in your backyard. It Electric grills is the least popular grills among the many grills on the market. Other types of grills are charcoal grills and gas grills. Cast iron hibachis are charcoal grills but there is also a gas hibachi grill.
A lot of people dislike electric grills for many reasons. We will be discussing some of those a little later. It is good to know though that electric grills also have its disadvantages. It is not all bad.
The electric grill is similar to gas and charcoal grills. Electric grills have a grated cooking surface and some models may even have side burners. Electric grills can either be used indoors or outdoors. The indoor variety has two styles, open and contact. Contact grills are those that press the food between the top and the bottom plate. Open grills are ridge plates which can even be used on the stovetop. This is what most people use when cooking meat.
The electric grill works just like its counterparts. The main difference is the taste. Food cooked on the electric grill does not have the distinct taste of food cooked on a charcoal grill. It lacks the smoky and earthy flavor which charcoal produces on food. This is one of the reasons why electric grills are not very popular.
Although they are portable, electric grills are also very difficult outdoors. When you go on picnics and camping, it is impossible to cook using an electric grill if there is no electric outlet nearby.
One of the electric grill’s advantage over the other grills is it eliminates the smoke and the smell. Smoke is cumbersome and it makes even newly showered people smell like they have not taken a bath in days. The smell also clings to the dress and the body.
